* Nagual Del Judith

60% Tempranillo, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, from Jerome, Arizona in Yavapai County.  Released on OCT 4th, 2014.   This is the last of the Cabernet Sauvignon from this site. A few years ago the site became infected with Pierces Disease and the remaining Cab was removed and replaced with Nebbiolo. This Judith is an elegant expression of site expressive Arizona Tempranillo & Cabernet Sauvignon. Berry fruit, eucalyptus & desert sage nose. Soft integrated oak gives an old world mouth feel followed by droplets of cassis, red currants and sweet cigar box tobacco. 130 cases produced. 2 bottle limit per customer. REMINDER! Wine is a perishable product. Despite all precautions, you do buy at your own risk and there are no refunds or returns on wines.  KEEP IN MIND, IF TEMPERATURES DROP/SPIKE WE WILL HOLD ORDERS UNTIL IT WARMS UP/COOLS DOWN.

SOURCE

Caduceus Cellars Judith's block, Jerome AZ

The Judith Block, is located on a south east facing slope at 4900 ft. Less than a half acre each of Nebbiolo, Aglianico, and Tempranillo with a dash of Malvasia in between. Mostly rocky decomposed granite and caleche soil with a layer of chalk just just beneath the topsoil. Perfect Spanish / Italian hillside setting. This block even more so than others due to it’s extreme slope, is hand farmed. Spacing is roughly 5′ by 5′ and generally cropped at about 2 to 2.5 tons per acre. These blocks compose the Nagual del Judith. Some years single varietal, others a field blend of all. Apologies, but No, we do not give tours of this or any block.
