2022 BMV Petite Sirah / Malvasia

Caduceus Cellars is proud to present the Outlier & Odd Experiments Division.  As we continue to explore, this is where we experiment.  A place for us to push forward, unlock potential, and discover new horizons.  Very limited production.

BMV Petite Sirah / Malvasia blend. Wild / ambient ferment. Aged in neutral puncheons for 24 months.

Due to high temperatures, all wine orders must be shipped via expedited service, resulting in higher shipping costs. Normal shipping rates will resume when the temperatures subside, usually in October.

Wine is a perishable product. Despite all precautions, you do buy at your own risk and there are no refunds or returns on wines.

Buhl

The Al Buhl Memorial Vineyard lies at the eastern edge of Sulfur Springs Valley (alongside the Willcox Playa) in what is known as the Kansas Settlement. The vineyard site is 120 acres with 67 acres planted. The soils are relatively deep loams and clay-loams interspersed with cobbles. The vineyard sits at 4300 feet and experiences up to 50 degree fluctuations in temperature during the growing season. Harvest usually starts in August and can run into early October. From here we source Syrah & Garnacha for PRIMER PASO, Tempranillo and Garnacha for SANCHA, Sangiovese Grosso for KITSUNÉ,  and occasional VSC offerings. The oldest 20 acres of the vineyard were planted in 1982 so some of  the oldest vines here are at least 41 years in age.
