Nagual del MARZO

50% Sangiovese, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Barbera. This is a subtle, elegant restrained wine with just a kiss of oak from its 20 months in large Botte/Casks. Of all of our wines, the MARZO has led the way in showcasing our submerged cap and extended maceration approach in the cellar. Fantastic old world results. 6 bottle limit per customer.

**Due to high temperatures, all wine orders must be shipped via expedited service, resulting in higher shipping costs. Normal shipping rates will resume when the temperatures subside, usually in October.

2019 Nagual del MARZO

TEMPLATE

Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon site blend from MARZO’s block, Cornville, AZ. Light bodied Italian style Super Tuscan. Named after my Great Grandfather John “Spirit” Marzo who made wine in Northern Italy near Turino in Venaus. Cropped at 2.0 to 2.5 tons per acre. 3450 ft. elevation.

SOURCE

Caduceus Cellars Marzo Block, Cornville AZ

Located right on Oak Creek, this 2.5 acre plot is home to Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Approx 3500 ft. Sandy, clay-loam river sediment on top of a bed of volcanic rock peppered calcareous (chalky, alkaline “limestone-like”) sediments derived from a larger geologic structure called the Verde formation. These grapes are generally slated to be the major components of Nagual del Marzo, as well as the occasional VSC and Rosé offerings. This site also hosts our Merkin Vineyards Orchard and Garden produce used at the Merkin Osteria in Old Town Cottonwood and Caduceus Cellars Tasting Room in Jerome, AZ.
