100% Tempranillo from the Judith block. Arizona Tempranillo is what we remember Riojas used to be before the over oaked point driven wines showed up. Berry fruit, eucalyptus & desert sage nose. Soft integrated oak gives an old world mouth feel followed by droplets of cassis, red currants and sweet cigar box tobacco.

Single variety offerings of Tempranillo, Aglianico, Nebbiolo, and Malvasia Bianca from our Estate vineyard, JUDITH’s block, Jerome, AZ. In order to best express the terroir of this site, these individual blocks are cropped between 2 to 2.5 tons per acre. 4900 ft. elevation.

The Judith Block, is located on a south east facing slope at 4900 ft. Less than a half acre each of Nebbiolo, Aglianico, and Tempranillo with a dash of Malvasia in between. Mostly rocky decomposed granite and caleche soil with a layer of chalk just just beneath the topsoil. Perfect Spanish / Italian hillside setting. This block even more so than others due to it’s extreme slope, is hand farmed. Spacing is roughly 5′ by 5′ and generally cropped at about 2 to 2.5 tons per acre. These blocks compose the Nagual del Judith. Some years single varietal, others a field blend of all. Apologies, but No, we do not give tours of this or any block.
