Our 2nd day of planting took us to Merkin East, on Page Springs Rd. Here We planted Cabernet, and Sangiovese. Once again a very hot day. This lot we had to come up with a clever way to keep the monsoons from washing away our vineyard. There are high cliffs above us. So when it rains the water shoots down, crosses the street, and gushes into our field. We cut a drain pipe in and dug a ditch right down the center of the vineyard just wide enough to run a little tractor through. We had a chance to test it recently and it worked perfectly.
