Late Spring Frost. Seems to be a reoccurring event. But more so this year. Arm Chair Weatherman’s guess. The Icelandic volcano may have created some greenhouse effect that resulted in some warm March weather. The kids woke up early, pushed buds and flowers, and then got zapped when we received our typical late Spring zap. Usually not a huge issue since most of the fruit trees and vines are only just waking up. Not in this case. Everything thought Spring came early and all were wide awake and working. We did our best. The most effective choice we made was to burn chunks of wood and charcoal in small 5 gallon garbage cans. Sort of like smudge pots without the ugly oily smoke. It seemed to work this time.
